History
of APDCL:
The Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) is an Electricity Regulatory
Board of the State of Assam in India. It is a public sector company that
manages the production, transmission and distribution of electricity in the
State of Assam with its successive companies (APGCL)Assam Power Generation Co. Ltd., (AEGCL)Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Ltd. and (APDCL) Assam Power Distribution Company
Ltd.
The Assam State Electricity Board was established in 1958 in the
composite state of Assam under the 1948 Electricity Act. The current board was
reconstituted in 1975 after the state was divided into Assam, Meghalaya and
Mizoram in 1972.
Two central government corporations, the
NEPCO and the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL) are completing the
state's efforts in energy development in transmission and production,
respectively.
Assam
Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) is a limited
liability company owned by the Government of Assam. It was incorporated on
October 23, 2009 and was registered under the Indian Companies Act of 1956.
The primary purpose of the
creation of the Company was to take over, manage and operate the electricity
distribution system, assets, liabilities, the Assam State Electricity Board
(ASEB) System notified under Part XIII of the Electricity Act, 2003.
The primary purpose of the Company is to undertake the
distribution, trading and supply of electricity in or out of Assam pursuant to
applicable law and all related or incidental activities. It also has the
mandate to develop, maintain and operate the electricity distribution system in
the state of Assam. In performing the power supply work, APDCL reaches each part of the state. The company serves the people
of Assam with a consumer base of more than 33 lakhs. This is increasing from
year to year.

Go to http://www.apdcl.gov.in/
to get your APDCL duplicate bill. The
website mentioned is also useful for APDCL
bill payment online.

Click on view my electricity tab as shown in above
figure to know your APDCL bill. Then
a form appears on the screen asking details like consumer id.
Step 2:
The consumer id is assigned uniquely for all the APDCL customers. The consumer id is
mentioned on the bill as shown in the figure.

Now enter the consumer id in the form shown below. The
your bill along with the date appears, if you want to see the complete details
of the bill click on the pdf symbol shown
in the figure.
When you click on the pdf symbol a fully detailed APDCL duplicate bill is obtained. The
bill obtained has details like consumer name, meter number, due date, billing
period, address, connected load in kw, electricity used in kwh and the price
for each of them. In this way the
consumer can get there APDCL duplicate
bill.
